8 Man Contact: Week 4 Recap / Playoff Look Ahead

Week 4 delivered exactly what this league has been all season unpredictable, explosive, and full of statement performances. With the regular season now wrapped, the playoff picture is set, but the storylines are far from finished.

The biggest headline coming out of the final week belongs to the Prospects. Dom Isufi and Bruce Mapp put together one of the most complete performances we have seen all year, impacting the game on both sides of the ball and reminding everyone what this team looks like when they are fully loaded. From playmaking on offense to shutting things down defensively, they controlled the tempo and made it clear that Prospects are not just a playoff team, they might be the most dangerous team in the field. If they continue to show up at full strength, they have a real argument as the favorite to win it all.

At the top of the standings, Tha Gang remains exactly where they have been all season. Dominant. Locked into the one seed, they have set the standard week after week. Baxter Kirven has been the engine behind it all, putting together a season that places him firmly among the league’s elite. QuaShawn Gray continues to be one of the most reliable and explosive receivers in the league, while the combination of Kirven and Alex Aguilera in the backfield gives defenses constant problems. Add in the resurgence of Mark Johnson as a pass rusher, and this team has balance on both sides of the ball. They are not just winning, they are dictating how games are played.

NTX Unlimited closes out the regular season as the third seed, powered by one of the most dominant offensive seasons we have seen. Jerell Norton has been the clear leader at quarterback, finishing at the top of every major passing category and putting together an MVP level campaign. His connection with Corde Burns has been nearly unstoppable, with Burns leading the league across all major receiving categories. This offense has been explosive all year, and if they find consistency on both sides of the ball, they are more than capable of making a deep run.

The Raiders head into the playoffs still searching for a true offensive identity, but they remain one of the toughest teams to overlook. Their chemistry and defensive presence keep them in every game. Will Ferguson has been a ball hawk all season, tied for the league lead in interceptions, while CaDerric Allen has been a constant problem for opposing offenses as the league’s sack leader. If the Raiders can find just enough rhythm offensively, they have the pieces to disrupt anyone in the bracket.

TMTR enters the postseason as the fifth seed, and there are still more questions than answers. There have been flashes throughout the season that showed what this team can be at its best, but consistency has been an issue. The biggest storyline now is the status of Cam Whiteside. If he is available, TMTR becomes a completely different team. If not, they will need others to step up in a big way to stay competitive. Either way, they are a team nobody is completely comfortable facing.

As the playoffs approach, the gap between teams feels smaller than ever. Tha Gang may hold the top spot, but Prospects are surging at the right time. NTX Unlimited has the firepower to outscore anyone, while the Raiders and TMTR both bring enough unpredictability to shake things up.

The regular season told one story. The playoffs are about to tell another.
